Indian Ocean’s Kunduchi Beach Hotel in Tanzania’s capital Dar es Salaam will undergo a major facelift to upgrade it into a Five Star beach hotel, banking to its prime position on the warm beaches, soft sands and the biggest water park.
Under the management of Wellworth Hotels and Lodges chain, Kunduchi Beach Hotel – Tanzania’s oldest beach hotel, now, running as the leading tourist beach resort with a water park facility.
Reports from Wellworth Hotels and Lodges management said that about $10 million has been earmarked for upgrading the hotel, to make it more attractive with best facilities to its clients, mostly tourists. The facelift of the hotel is expected to take off next month.
Built with a striking Afro-Arabic architecture, Kunduchi Beach Hotel is the biggest hotel on the Indian Ocean’s coastal zone. It is among the earliest tourist accommodation facilities established by the government of Tanzania almost 50 years ago.
Now under the ownership of Wellworth Hotels and Lodges, the hotel is expected to take a new shape of a five star tourist facility in Dar es Salaam northern coastline.
This classic beach tourist hotel was the government property under the Tanzania Tourist Corporation since 1972 when it was established as the Indian Ocean beach hotel.
Wellworth Hotels and Lodges chain is an upcoming Tanzanian hospitality group of company which operates several, luxury lodges and resorts in key wildlife and tourist sites in Tanzania, mostly the city of Dar es Salaam and Northern Tanzania wildlife parks of Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti and Zanzibar.
The company has as well, acquired the ownership of Mikumi Wildlife Lodge in Mikumi National Park (Southern Tanzania Tourist Circuit), Agip Hotel and Embassy Hotel in Dar es Salaam City Centre. These tourist facilities are set for rehabilitation to revive them into a full tourist services operation.
