The Seychelles Tourism Board and VISA International held a business meeting last week to discuss the implementation of the swipe card facilities. The meeting was headed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Elsia Grandcourt, who was joined by VISA’s Head of Government Relation, Mr. Daniel Ngwepe, and the Country Manager Business Development, Mrs. Jacqueline Malaba.
“Their mission is to extend the swipe card facilities to more tourism establishments as well as shops which will encourage and give tourists who travel here the opportunity to pay with their cards which in the end will allow tourists to spend more by having other modes of payments available instead of just cash,” said Mrs. Grandcourt.
On the other hand, while it was just a brief meeting between the Seychelles Tourism Board and VISA International, both parties have decided to meet again in the future.
In line with the meeting that took place, Mr. Daniel Ngwepe and Mrs. Jacqueline Malaba have also met with several high government officials during their one week visit here namely from the Central Bank and Ministry of Finance.
The meeting ended on a high note with all partners involved confident that this new step will be an added boost to the tourism market.
